Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all

—Neutral Milk Hotel, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Everything I now have will one day be taken from me. My money, possessions, friends, family and health. One day I will disappear and all my memories of everything I've ever felt, thought, or experienced will be gone. There will be nobody to experience any of it anymore.

I can ignore this truth or I can hold it in awareness. I can fear and dread this truth or I can face it head on and embrace the fact that there is anything at all with immense gratitude. For everything only exists in this one moment and there are no guarantees there'll be a next.

What a miracle it is even to exist!

There are no ordinary moments

—Dan Millman, Way of the Peaceful Warrior
